PASADENA, CA (MARKETWIRE – October 13, 2011) – Everest Properties, a privately-held, diversified real estate investment firm, appointed Brett Franklin as Chief Investment Officer. Mr. Franklin will focus his efforts on investing in distressed and value added opportunities throughout the country. Mr. Franklin will support Everest Realty Management in its efforts to provide solutions to Tenant in Common (“TIC”) owned properties.
Mr. Franklin has over 20 years’ experience in commercial real estate. He has completed over $1.7 billion in acquisitions, dispositions and developments over the course of his career. Prior to joining Everest in 2011, Mr. Franklin was Chief Executive Officer of a real estate consulting firm. From 1997 to 2009, Mr. Franklin served as Vice President of Acquisitions and then Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Dispositions of PS Business Parks Inc., a publicly traded REIT, where he was responsible for all acquisitions and dispositions. Mr. Franklin worked for Public Storage Pickup & Delivery as Vice President of Acquisitions from 1996 to 1997, acquiring and leasing industrial properties across the country. From 1992 to 1995, Mr. Franklin held various positions for an environmental remediation and technology company, including Chief Operating Officer. From 1987 to 1992, he managed and operated a real estate brokerage company. Mr. Franklin received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Los Angeles.
